Yellowstone National Park

We are located just 40 minutes from the North entrance to Yellowstone National Park.

While there are a seemingly infinite amount of activities in the park, here are just a few fun day trip ideas:

  • Drive to Lamar Valley at dawn to see packs of wild wolves. Make sure to bring binoculars!

  • Visit Old Faithful

  • Walk around the Grand Prismatic Spring

  • Hike to Osprey Falls.

  • Visit the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone

  • Mammoth Hot Springs is a fun area for families to explore.

  • A few tips to remember - don’t pet the bison and bear spray is recommended for any hiking.

Restaurants & Nightlife

  • Chico Hot Springs

    While Chico offers great hot springs, their food isn't to be overlooked. The saloon at Chico offers a full bar, live music, and bar staples. The restaurant at Chico is a separate area, and their food is incredible - definitely worth checking out..

  • Emigrant Outpost

    The Outpost has some stellar pizza, a full bar, and a pool table. You can get pizza to-go, or hang out and shoot a game of pool; great atmosphere.

  • Old Saloon/Livery Stable

    Adjoining the Old Saloon, the Livery Stable offers cowboy staples and cheap beer. Live music at Old Saloon on the weekends make this one of the local favorites.

  • Sage Lodge

    For an upscale dining experience, check out Sage Lodge. The Fireside Room is less formal, but offers a tremendously tasty menu and Instagrammable views. The Grill at Sage Lodge requires reservations, and if you’re looking for the best, this is it!

  • Pray Cafe

    For a small hole-in-the-wall breakfast joint, check out the Pray Cafe. Comfort food and American staples will leave you feeling full! You can even walk there from your rental :)

  • Pine Creek Lodge

    Acoustic brunch every Saturday & Sunday, and music most weekends. PCL is set back into the pines, and is a stellar music venue

  • Yellowstone Valley Grill

    Comparatively upscale, the Yellowstone Valley Grill has a fantastic chef and a constantly rotating dinner menu. Situated right on the Yellowstone River and facing the Absaroka mountain range, this is a great option. Please note reservations are required.

  • Wildflour Bakery

    Awesome breakfast sandwiches and coffee. They share the same space as Follow Yer Nose BBQ. Only open in the summer.

  • Follow Yer Nose

    The sign tallying the amount of Texans converted to their BBQ is a testament- their food is amazing! Stellar 'q and cold beers on tap make this a great option. Sit outside to take in the views :) Hours vary depending on season, make sure to double-check before heading out.

Hot springs & Hiking

  • Chico Hot Springs

    Only 10 mins away, soak in the beautiful natural hot springs at Chico.

  • Yellowstone Hot Springs

    Located about 25 minutes away. Gorgeous scenery in an outdoor setting. YSettled between two mountain ranges, and nestled on the bank of the Yellowstone River, peace and serenity are the keynotes of this location

  • Pine Creek Falls

    An easy 5 miles hike to gorgeous waterfalls. Located in Pine Creek, about 15 minutes from here.

  • Pine Creek Lake

    A moderate/difficult 10.5-mile hike covering >4,000 vertical feet, ending at an absolutely stunning lake. Start at the same place for Pine Creek Falls but continue for several more miles.

  • Trout Pond

    An easy 20 minute hike located at Chico Hot Springs. Great views of Paradise Valley without much effort :)

  • Passage Falls

    Moderate out/back trail to some amazing waterfalls. Takes 1-2 hours.

Floating, fly fishing and horseback riding

  • Black Otter Guide Service

    Offers guided fly fishing tours on the river. Multi-day horseback tours also available.

  • Montana Whitewater Rafting & Yellowstone Zipline Tours

    One of a few whitewater rafting outfitters in Gardiner, lots of fun for the family or couples.

  • Rubber Ducky River Rentals

    Offer tube, raft, and kayak rentals. They can also drop off, and pick up, at pre-arranged locations

  • Horsetrack Outfitters

    Located right across the street! Offers guided horseback tours. They are one of the few outfitters permitted to provide horseback tours in Yellowstone National Park. Owned by Mike & Milee Dailey, they are an exceptional guide service.

  • Rockin’ HK Outfitters

    Offers shorter (1-3 hour) horseback rides. They are located at Chico Hot Springs.
