History & Vision
About the property.
In 2018 Colin purchased the 5 acre plot of land containing the unused general store, single-family home, and post office. There were many reasons that drew him to the area, primarily the proximity to the great outdoors. Paradise Valley is home to a beautiful ecosystem, and easy access to several outdoor pursuits.
Over the next year, the single family home was converted into a duplex and two log cabins were built. The duplex vacation rental became available in January 2019, and the two log cabins were fully completed in August 2019. In the fall of 2021 a new tenant began leasing the unused general store, and has begun preparing to open it as a trading post for November 2021. At the same time, a third log cabin is being built, expected to be ready for guests in Spring 2022.
The property is located near Yellowstone National Park, several music venues, the Yellowstone River, and endless exploration opportunities in the Absaroka Mountain Range - fly fishing, hiking, cross-country skiing, horseback riding, sledding- you name it!
Colin’s vision for this area is to strengthen the community in Pray by establishing a trading post/general store, building affordable long-term rental units for locals, creating a community garden/greenhouse, and hosting local events like farmers markets, ice skating rink, and musical showcases.
Over the next few years Colin and his team will be adding eight smaller log cabins to the property. The crux of Pray’s development will be the trading post, which will sell local artwork, wine/beer, and necessities for travelers
